Overview

****You will be required to purchase three uniforms at an estimated total price of $150-$265. The cost will vary depending on your size and the amount will be deducted from your paycheck in two installments.****

Position Purpose: Under general supervision, and using a variety of woodworking tools and techniques, fabricates the most complex cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft. Assist Shop Lead by overseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance and direction to co-workers. Mentor and train other Cabinetmakers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:1.Fabricate complex high quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and hand held-tools. 2.Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail. Coordinates with supervision to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples.3.Complies with and champions Safety, 5s, and housekeeping policies and ensures the protection of aircraft interiors (PTP). 4.Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians and monitor their work to ensure they complete assigned tasks in accordance with required levels of safety, quality and productivity.5.Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce, cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.6.Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.Additional Functions:1.Accepts Lead responsibilities when needed. Oversees projects and coordinates with Lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.2.Conducts safety audits and assists team members in doing safety audits.3.Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.4.Performs other duties as required.

Other Requirments:1.Possess a working knowledge of Company inspection and process specifications. 2.The ability to read write, speak, and understand the English language. 3.Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift. 4.Must be computer literate.
High school or GED.

Four (4) years of experience in cabinetmaking. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products. See Other Requirements in Job Description.

12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
