Information Security Specialist

Has specialized knowledge of information systems, to include networks, and an advanced understanding of information systems security concepts and the ability to integrate these with other security disciplines within company and government regulations. Interprets requirements, develop procedures, and monitors practices to ensure compliance of both company and government contractual requirements. Provide security plans related to the U.S. military infrastructure, insuring compliance with JAFAN 6/3 and company requirements for computing system security. Provide computing security and integration services to computer users and customers using knowledge of secure architectures; secure electronic data communications, network/data security, and other related areas. Researches advanced technologies and technological concepts and integrate security solutions into complex information systems and processes. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves complex computer security questions and problems both alone and in a team environment. Assist less experienced personnel. Selected individual must be eligible for Special Access Program accesses.

JOB SKILLS: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills required. Analytical skills and computing experience required. Possesses a strong working knowledge of one or more of the following systems: Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux, and/or UNIX operating systems. Strong networking background in TCP/IP is desired for security analysis and risk assessment. Good working knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems required. Strong communication skill in oral and technical writing, teaming, negotiation and time management skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic environment, with demanding deadlines, to ensure that customer needs are met. Experience in the Special Access Program (SAP) environment. Be able to work well in a matrix management environment. Understands and has a working knowledge of company and U.S. government information system security requirements as contained in NISPOM and JAFAN 6/3. Understands the Certification and Accreditation process. Prior experience as an ISSO/IAO is required. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification desired.
