The candidates must have experience with the creation (writing) of procurement specifications, request for proposals (RFP's), request for information (RFI's), and requirements definition documentation as well as supplier management experience. The candidates should have the background and experience to understand and deal with the necessity of "reverse engineering" electronics, avionics units, sensors and assemblies, etc. Also, they should be capable of the evaluation of an existing or new designs via analysis, simulation, bread boarding, etc. The candidates should be familiar with commonly utilized government, military, and industry specifications and standards as well as their real relationships to equipment robustness and reliability. The candidates should have experience with a broad range of avionics and electronic units and systems.
It would be desirable, but not required, that candidates have a broad skill set, including several and, preferably, many of the following:
1. Experience and/or familiarity with control systems engineering (analysis, simulation, design, build and test)
2. Experience and/or familiarity with system architectures and system analysis, design, development, build, assembly, interconnect, and test
3. Experience and/or familiarity with embedded software analysis, design, development, programming, and testing
4. Experience and/or familiarity with redundancy management (monitoring/fault detection, fault isolation, and system reversion)
JOB SKILLS: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, or physics. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience.
