Position Description:
Senior Design Engineer responsible for design and test of microwave (MMIC) and RF (RFIC) integrated circuits reporting to BR&T Solid-State Electronics Development organization. Duties include design, simulation, test, and analysis of microwave and RF integrated circuit designs. Projects include design both for internal and external Government customers. Candidate should be able to perform definition, design, development, test and verification using GaAs, SiGe or GaN technologies. Circuits may include design of components covering frequencies from 5 GHz to 75 GHz including low noise amplifiers, mixers, power amplifiers, switches, phase shifters and attenuators for application such as communications phased array antennas.
Experienced with microwave and RF CAD tools such as Agilent ADS, Cadence RF, Microwave Office, Sonnet EM or equivalent is required. Must have demonstrated experience in the use of ElectroMagnetic simulation for RF design, including MMICs. Experience in mixed signal integrated circuits including design and verification is a plus. Ability to develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications. Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis. Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to assess progress and ensure compliance with requirements. Works under general direction and must have good verbal and written communications skills to work with teammates and suppliers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience.
