-Materials Engineer focal within the Engineering group, responsible for supporting and coordinating product development and quality improvement related to all materials used in the production of our aircraft (metallic and composite).
-Process Non-Conformance Reports on raw material, heat treat, plating and process non-conformances, including MRB signature authority.
-Process requests for Client Engineering Specification revisions.
-Technical oversight for production, fight test, customer service, plating operations, paint stripping, Methods and off-site production.
-Technical support for production on electrical bonding and corrosion.
-Audit special processes as part of audit team with Quality Assurance.
-Test/analyze field failures, reporting results to PPC and DER’s and chemical compatibilities of new chemicals for use on aircraft.
-Perform Materials compatibility support and research
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED:
-Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Engineering (MS preferred).
-Minimum of 8 years of applicable Materials experience, preferably in working with composites.
-Must be familiar with metals, composites and materials testing.
-Strong technical ability including experience with Certification rules and requirements. DER or ability to grow into DER position preferred.
-Be able to coordinate technical projects to meet requirements of internal customers and internal support organizations in line with schedule priorities.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Team player that exhibits and models the Client core values and leadership attributes.
